The Frontier Center, located in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, was acquired in 2009. The property and development lands are adjacent to a Walmart and a Canadian Tireas well as the city’s Cuplex (mulituse recreation complex), and the Golden Eagle Casino. With the mall standing at 205,000 square feet, and 7.5 acres of additional development lands between the centre and Walmart, the property offered the potential to re-configure a portion of the centre, thereby permitting additional leasing to national tenants with higher and stable rents. Under Terracap’s ownership, the centre has undergone upgrades such as roofing replacement and electrical upgrades, and is home to national brands such as Dollarama, Shoppers Drugmart, Tim Hortons, Burger King and Sport-Chek. With an estimated 13,000 cars driving past the retail centre on a daily basis (on the Trans-Canada Yellowhead highway), the property has become the dominant retail centre in the area.
